Connie's Hot Chocolate Recipe

(From "Celebrate the Season with Caroling")

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Pinch of salt
5-1/2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla

Melt semisweet chocolate chips in a pan on low heat. Add sugar, water and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly with a whisk. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and heavy whipping cream. Heat but do not boil. Add vanilla. Serve warm and enjoy!
